The Serpae Hi-Fin Tetra is a variety of the Serpae Tetra (Hyphessobrycon eques), distinguished by its elongated dorsal and anal fins, according to Discus Madness and Tri-County Tropicals. These tetras are known for their bright orange-red body with black markings, including a comma-shaped spot behind the gills and black on the dorsal and anal fins. They are generally peaceful but can be fin nippers, so they should be kept with similar-sized, active fish and not with slower-moving or long-finned species.
