Sudden collapse is a symptom of serious underlying disease including heart failure, toxin exposure, internal bleeding, or neurological events.
Symptoms
- Sudden inability to stand
- Weak pulse
- Unconsciousness
- Pale gums
- Labored breathing
Causes
- Heart disease (HCM)
- Internal bleeding
- Severe hypoglycemia
- Toxin exposure
- Stroke (rare)
Treatment
- Emergency stabilization
- Oxygen therapy
- IV fluids
- Diagnostics (bloodwork, imaging)
