Overview

Heatstroke is less common in cats than dogs but can occur in confined, poorly ventilated, or overheated environments.


Symptoms

  • Rapid breathing
  • Drooling
  • Weakness
  • Vomiting
  • Collapse

Treatment

  • Controlled cooling
  • IV fluids
  • Oxygen therapy
  • ICU monitoring

Prevention

  • Provide shade and ventilation
  • Never leave in closed spaces
  • Ensure constant water access
