Giardia is a protozoal parasite affecting the intestines, leading to chronic digestive issues and diarrhea.
Symptoms
- Soft or greasy stool
- Diarrhea

Causes
- Contaminated water
- Fecal-oral transmission
- Dog parks and shared environments
Treatment
- Anti-parasitic medications (fenbendazole, metronidazole)
- Hydration therapy
- Environmental cleaning
Prognosis
Excellent with treatment but reinfection is common.
