Choking occurs when an object blocks the airway, preventing breathing.
Symptoms
- Pawing at mouth
- Gagging
- Panic
- Blue gums
- Collapse
Treatment
- Manual removal (if visible)
- Heimlich maneuver (dogs)
- Emergency airway procedures at vet
