Overview

Travel anxiety is a conditioned fear response to motion, confinement, or past negative travel experiences.

Symptoms

Causes

  • Motion sensitivity or vestibular discomfort

Treatment / Training Plan

  • Counterconditioning: Feed high-value treats in parked car
  • Short progressive trips (drive → return home)
  • Crate or safety harness conditioning
  • Calm environment (no loud music, stable temperature)
  • Motion sickness evaluation if vomiting present
